Looking back at 2019 the thing that stood out the most for me was the amount of shaming I did towards Black men for not knowing certain things we were conditioned to ignore. Since when does shaming create a change in behavior? When/who has it worked on? Why do we make being hard on each other the default intervention? From now on I would like to think of positive alternatives before being so hard on Black men attempting to grow and heal. I apologize to any of the homies I’ve rubbed the wrong way last year, being overly passionate is not an excuse.
